თამაშისადმი მუდმივი ლტოლვა, თვითკონტროლის დაკარგვა, დეპრესიული აშლილობა, ფსიქოლოგიური დისკომფორტი, გაღიზიანება თამაშის თუნდაც მოკლე ხნით შეწყვეტისას. ეს მდგომარეობა ძლიერ ჰგავს ნარკომანთა აბსტინენციას, რომელსაც თან სდევს თავის ტკივილი, ძილის დარღვევა, გუნება-განწყობის გაუარესება, ყურადღების კონცენტრაციის დაქვეითება… – ეს იმ სიმპტომების ნაწილია, რომელიც ლუდომანებს ახასიათებთ.

დაავადებათა კოდირების საერთაშორისო სისტემაში ამ პათოლოგიას საკუთარი ნომერი აქვს მინიჭებული – F 63.0. იმას, რომ აზარტულ თამაშებზე დამოკიდებულება გლობალურ სოციალურ პრობლემად იქცა, ეს ფაქტიც ადასტურებს.
ლუდომანია სოციალური პრობლემაა, რომელიც სერიოზულ საფრთხეს უქმნის მოსახლეობის მნიშვნელოვან ნაწილს. საქართველოში თამაშებზე დამოკიდებულთა რიცხვი ელვის სისწრაფით იზრდება. აფბა-ს კვლევის თანახმად, ჩვენს ქვეყანაში ონლაინ-კაზინოებით მოსარგებლეთა რიცხვი დაახლოებით 400 ათასი ადამიანია. მათი ასაკი 14-დან 35 წლამდე მერყეობს. თუ გავითვალისწინებთ იმას, რომ საქართველოში ამ ასაკის დაახლოებით 1,033,000 ადამიანია, ეს იმას ნიშნავს, რომ ჩვენს ქვეყანაში ყოველი მეორე ადამიანი აზარტულ თამაშებშია ჩართული! ერთი მოთამაშე კი დღეში საშუალოდ 4-5 საათს ატარებს აზარტული თამაშების მახეში.

თამაშზე დამოკიდებულება სამ სტადიად ვითარდება: 1. მოგებათა სტადია; 2. წაგებათა სტადია; 3. განხიბვლის სტადია.

მოგებათა სტადიაში თამაში შემთხვევითია, მოგება – ხშირი, ფსონები თანდათან იზრდება, ადამიანი ჰყვება ფანტაზიას, ეუფლება უსაფუძვლო ოპტიმიზმი. წაგებათა სტადიაზე მოთამაშე უკვე მიზანმიმართულად თამაშობს, თავს იწონებს მოგებებით, გონებით მხოლოდ თამაშს უტრიალებს და ადრე თუ გვიან ხვდება, რომ აღარ შესწევს შეჩერების ძალა. იწყება ტყუილები, ლუდომანი პრობლემებს უმალავს მეგობრებს, ოჯახზე ნაკლებად ზრუნავს, სამსახურში სიარულს თავს არიდებს, იღებს ვალებს, ცდილობს ფულის შოვნას როგორც კანონიერი, ისე უკანონო გზით, გამუდმებით გაღიზიანებულია, სურს თამაშისთვის თავის დანებება, მაგრამ ვერ ახერხებს.განხიბვლის სტადიაზე ადამიანი კარგავს როგორც პიროვნულ, ისე პროფესიულ რეპუტაციას, თავს არიდებს მეგობრებსა და ოჯახს, იტანჯება სინდისის ქენჯნით, ეუფლება პანიკა, ხშირად სჩადის უკანონო ქმედებებს, ინანიებს, იპყრობს უიმედობა, თავის

მოკვლის სურვილი; ოჯახი ინგრევა, ლუდომანი იწყებს სმას, უვითარდება ემოციური აშლილობა
ამ სავალალო სტატისტიკის პარალელურად კი, საქართველოში პროგრესულად იზრდება სათამაშო ბიზნესის წლიური ბრუნვა და უკანასკნელ წლებში კოლოსალურ მასშტაბებს აღწევს. ამას ადასტურებს სათამაშო ბიზნესის შემოსავლების ზრდის ტემპის შესახებ ოფიციალური მონაცემები: 2011 წელი – 366 მილიონი ლარი, 2012 წელი – 996 მილიონი ლარი, 2013 წელი – 1.213 მილიარდი ლარი, 2014 წელი – 2, 032 მილიარდი ლარი. ამ მაჩვენებლებით ირკვევა, რომ ბოლო 5 წლის განმავლობაში კაზინოების წლიური ბრუნვა თითქმის ექვსჯერ გაიზარდა.
