ქვეყანაში ინვესტორების მიზიდვისა და ბიუჯეტის შევსების მიზნით, ზოგიერთი ქვეყანა მაქალაქეობას ყიდის. ბუნებრივია, რომ ეს ეკონომიკაში ინვესტირების სანაცვლოდ, მოქალაქეობის მიღების პროცედურის გამარტივების ლეგიტიმურ ოპერაციას წარმოადგენს და არა პირადობის დამადასტურებელი საბუთების პირდაპირ გაყიდვას.

ტენდენცია ბოლო წლების განმავლობაში მზარდია, რასაც საერთაშორისო სავალუტო ფონდი, იმ ფაქტით ხსნის, რომ მიმდინარე გეოპოლიტიკური კლიმატის ცვლილების პროცესებში ადამიანები უსაფრთხო პოლიტიკურ და ეკონომიკურ თავშესაფარს ეძებენ.

რაც შეეხება პროცედურებს მოქალაქეობის მისაღებად, დომინიკაში საჭიროა 100 000 დოლარის ინვესტიციის განხორციელება და დამატებითი გადასახადებისა და მოსაკრებლების გადახდა, რის შედეგადაც დაინიშნება პირადი გასაუბრება და მოგენიჭებათ მოქალაქეობა. პასპორტის მისაღებად კი 5-დან 14 თვემდე დაგჭირდებათ. ასევე სენტ-კიტსსა და ნევისში, სახელმწიფო მოქალაქეობის მიღების ორ გზას სთავაზობს – მსურველმა უნდა განახორციელონ 250 000 დოლარის საქველმოქმედო შენატანი შაქრის მრეწველობის დივერსიფიკაციის ფონდის სასარგებლოდ, ან ქვეყნის უძრავ ქონებაში არანაკლებ 400 000 დოლარის რაოდენობის ინვესტიცია უნდა ჩადოს. იგივე პრინციპი ვრცელდება, გამონაკლისების გარდა, სხვა ქვეყნების კანონმდებლობაზეც.
